Alternate Nostril Breath

This breath balances brain hemispheres to encourage both linear and creative thought. It balances the endocrine system, induces a sense of inner peace, encourages deeper, more restful sleep.

Sit comfortably, close your eyes and lift your right hand to your nose. Use your thumb to press lightly against your right nostril and your forefinger to press lightly against the left nostril, alternating back and forth. Begin with a big full body inhale through both nostrils. Close the right nostril with the thumb. Breathe out a full, long exhale from the left nostril. Breathe in an equally long inhale through the left nostril. Switch sides, placing the forefinger over the left nostril and releasing the right. Breathe out a full, long exhale through the right nostril. Breathe in an equally long inhale through the right nostril. Continue alternating side to side for several minutes.
